At Least 3 Dead in Dallas Heat Wave: August 4, 2008

Dallas County Medical Examiners Office has confirmed that 2008 Heat Waves striking Texas have so far resulted in at least 3 confirmed deaths.  These include 2 men aged 49 and 84 and an 82-year old woman. National Weather Service records show that July 2008 was the 4th hottest July in the history of the Dallas area. 

Heat Wave in Oklahoma Ties Temperature Record & Takes 2 Lives

On August 3rd 2008 temperatures tied a record for the date reaching 106F-which was a previous high dating back to 1930.  At least 2 deaths are being attributed to the heat wave so far.

Philadelphia Records 21st Heat Related Death of 2008

Medical examiner’s office spokesman Jeff Moran says the body of a 67-year-old South Philadelphia man was found in his second floor bedroom Monday night. Moran says there was no air conditioning, and the windows were open with a small fan circulating hot air in the bedroom.

Philadelphia-At least 4 dead due to heat wave: July 24, 2008

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer four persons have died during a week long heat wave in Philadelphia.  Temperatures reached 90 degrees or higher for seven straight days. In one instance a man was found dead in a home with no air conditioning.
